Remix Beach Clean and Plastic Discussion

NOTE: Please be aware this event will be at New Brighton Beach near the Library and Playground.
While New Zealand beaches look stunning, they still have a lot of rubbish amongst the sand. So join us to not only clean up some of that rubbish, but also learn about what types of things end up on our beach and what we can do to avoid them getting there.
We will have a 30 minute beach clean followed by a discussion about the rubbish we find. We will talk about what can go in the yellow bin, what can be used to replace the products and we will separate out some plastics for a Remix Plastic recycling project for Plastic Free July.
Children of all ages welcome, guardians are required to oversee the kids clean up but can partake as they wish. Please dress accordingly, rain date will be confirmed if needed. Please wear closed toe shoes and bring gloves if you have them. Feel free to bring your own rubbish bags. Money raised from this event will fund further plastic recycling education.
