Event description

JCI NZ in partnership with Future Directors Institute is proud to present Governance for Emerging Leaders. Boards across sectors, corporates, charities, start-ups and state sector boards alike are in need of diverse thinkers and a succession pipeline. Our programme aims to create a community of young leaders in boardrooms across NZ.

If you are in the first few years of being a board director or are aspiring to gain experience on a board and want to know more, our Governance Training programme is for you. At this 2-day training workshop, you will learn how to find your unique voice and what the right board position might be for you. You will walk away having a practiced elevator pitch for your governance career and having been connected to a global community of young leaders and changemakers who will support your journey.

Modules covered include:

  1. Governance 101 - understanding the ‘language of the boardroom’
  2. Find and pitch your Unique Selling Point
  3. How to find the right board position for you
  4. Maximising your chances in the application and interview process
  5. Boardroom Scenarios - making the tough decisions
  6. Find your voice and influence as a non-executive director

This programme is brought to you exclusively by JCI New Zealand in partnership with Future Directors Institute. Future Directors Institute is on a mission to empower, develop and support an international community of next generation directors, boards and organisations steering meaningful change inside and outside the boardroom.
