Giving Seeds of Love Workshop

This event has passed Get tickets

Event description

Giving Seeds of Love is a local response to the events of 15th March and is all about celebrating diversity as a strength.

In this workshop you will make a paper pulp, which is made by ripping paper, soaking it in hot water and mushing it into a pulp. We then add wildflowers (which represent the beauty of diversity) and use our molds to make a seeded heart. You will be able to add that to a 'Giving Seeds of Love' card, that explains how to grow your seeded heart, and add potting mix to a stamped pot to make a complete gift set ready to gift to a love one or take home to grow yourself. This workshop can take as much or as little time as you have - drop in any time between 12-2 pm.

The workshop fee includes a terracotta pot with potting mix in a gift bag and 2 hearts and cards to go with it. Additional pots are available for $12, and $3 for an additional seeded heart with a card.

Tutor: Rebecca Parnham from Giving Seeds of Love.

Venue: The Kowhai Collective, The Guthrey Centre, Cashel Street.
Just off Cashel Mall, near Sweet Soul Patisserie.

We are grateful for the support of Christchurch City Council’s Enliven Places Projects Fund, which has allowed us to offer this class at a subsidised rate, and Life in Vacant Spaces for supporting our amazing venue.
