Deep Dialogue

Event description

Piki mai kake mai, all welcome to come, listen, question.

This deep dialogue is happening as part of the inaugural Tāmaki Makaurau Placemaking Week.

There’s more to placemaking than making public spaces pretty. It’s about practice as much as outcome. Who is involved and how, as much as what happens and where. And it’s about social justice, soul and survival too. What may look like an improved streetscape is also a step towards regenerating urban landscapes and lives. Done well, creative collaboration grows and shares skills, connections, hopes and dreams. It can ameliorate neglect, disconnect, decay and avoidance and increase value and worth. Among people as much as places. Because we are all people in places, right?

So how do we do it well? What are the key ingredients? And what do we already have right here, right now in Aotearoa to step it up?

Our guests come from Seattle, Manchester and Tamaki Makaurau to be in conversation with Alice Canton at Crave.

Finger food from 6pm, speaking session opens at 6:30pm.
