AIMA Auckland Monthly Meeting - 28 November 2019
Date and Time
Join us for the final AIMA Auckland Monthly Meeting of 2019...
“Using Functional Testing to crack my most difficult case”
with Adri Ferreira – Naturopath, Nutritionist and Tech Sales Manager at Nutrisearch
Join Adri as she presents a fascinating case study that demonstrates optimal ways to use Functional Testing.
Functional tests focus on bodily functions as markers of health, rather than just looking at disease states and markers of disease. Samples of your blood, saliva, urine, stool, hair or breath can be used to determine the function of a number of processes in your body.
Adri’s case study helps us to understand how we can “put it all together”, make sense of the chaos and understand what to touch and what to leave for now.
The case study involves a 32-year-old female with PCOS who had 2 unsuccessful IUI, first attempt at IVF: 24 eggs harvested, 11 fertilized, but all died in 5 days. She had gut issues and eczema all her life.
During this presentation, Adri will cover the following:
- Know your 3 most Important Functional Screening Tests: the 80/20 percent rule to uncover drivers of a condition
- When to do Genetic Testing and when to do Functional Testing if your patient can’t afford both
- Looking at systems instead of individual markers
- Honour the Sequence (most of the time)
- Treating a patient and not a Lab
- Digging deeper to find the cause
- Protocol Design
We hope that you'll be able to join us - it's a great opportunity to meet and network with like-minded practitioners and students in an informal setting.
When: Thursday 28th November, 7pm networking and light refreshments, 7.30pm start (presentation will be for 1 hour from 7.30-8.30pm)
Where: Marcellin Room, St Columba Centre, 40 Vermont St, Ponsonby – parking available onsite
Tickets: $20 adults $10 students. Tickets must be pre-booked. Herbal tea and light refreshments included.
